Down Dorset

Back in April my Granny moved back to England after 20 years in France and now she's all sorted we went down to visit for a few days.
It's so nice down there and despite the grotty weather we tried to make the best of it and squeeze in seeing all the prettiness!

We drove up and up and up to a prison no less, Granny knows all the classiest places! You could see so far from up there! It was quite cloudy, but on a clear day it would be glorious!

We went to possibly the windiest beach in the whole world. So windy it blew my face in to my neck and gave me 5 chins and blew Christopher up like a marshmallow.

Hardy Monument

And finally, Grans dog...cos, dog!

I hope we can go and visit again soon, maybe when it's not so over cast and windy! Anyone got other suggestions of visiting spots?

Guest Post - Ed the Tortoise

Hello! My name is Lord Edwin Goji Berry of Haslemere...or Ed for short. I'm Harriets tortoise and today I'm going to share my beauty routine and tips with you!

First off let's talk diet. I suppose you could say that I'm on the alkaline diet eating greens and greens and greens it's the way forward! Dandelions and vetch are my favourite but I'm also partial to a nice slice of juicy cucumber to help me stay hydrated. It's good for you humans too, with vitamins A, B and C and it's good for your kidneys!

I take a nice warm bath every day or two to wash any any sneaky bits of dirt and it's helps my digestion!
After my bath I get dried off and go out in the garden for some exercise!

Every so often I like to have a bit of olive oil rubbed on to my shell!

Ooh look I'm so shiney!! Olive oils not just for your salad either, you can put it on your finger nails if they are flaking and it helps them grow, and you can use it as a hot oil treatment on your hair...maybe I should tell Harriet, she's always banging on about bigger hair...

Vitamin D from Mr Sunshine is also very important for me, it helps my shell grow. If the sun is having a day off then I have a special light to keep me healthy.
Oh, yes I love it under here- toasty warm!
My last beauty tip for you all is to get lots and lots of sleep!
Sometimes I get so tired I forget to sleep in my shell! Oops! Sleep is important to help digest your food properly and help your body recover from the day, personally I have about 15 hours sleep a night plus several naps. Naps are essential!!

Anyway, that's all from me for today...I'm off to the garden...

Cricket Tea - Disney Style

Having a boyfriend who's on the cricket team means getting roped in to doing cricket teas every once in a while. This weekend also happens to be my boyfriends birthday so we made him an extra special tea I thought I would share with you... Disney Tea!

We also had shaped pizzas, popcorn, gumbo, ratatouille, sandwiches and chocolate fondue. And, the final piéce de résistance...Nemo Cake!

All credit to my friend Cara for that! Amazing!

Cricket teas are always pretty much the same; sandwiches, crisps, cake...so we try and mix it up a bit when it's our turn by doing a theme, it always goes down well and makes it a bit more interesting through the season. So if you ever find you have to do a tea, think outside the box and it will be appreciated!

Oh, and we also wore Disney teeshirts, just to get fully in the spirit!

They were all from Primark and cost £6 each

Anyone ever done anything like this before? Or a kids party, let's face it- it's pretty much what this is!!!

Samples Review

Just thought I would share with you a few of the samples I have used over the past couple of months. Samples are such a great way to get a feel for the product before buying, you can often use testers in the shops but having a sample at home means you can really use products how you want a get a real feel for them and how they will work for you.

First up, Nivea Anti Age! This felt really silky on my skin and has added bonus of spf 15. It absorbed quite slowly which isn't ideal with a face moisturiser, you want it to sink in you you can get on with your day, my skin still felt sticky for 5 mins afterwards. In terms of anti-wrinkle benefits, you can't tell from one try! It smelt really nice and fresh...but I got some in my mouth and it tasted gross!
Available here for £14.99

Garner Ultra Lift moisturiser was thin, light and quickly absorbed in to my skin. There was no smell which was a bit disappointing. You only need a small amount if product so will last a long time.
Available here for £9.99

Nivea Soft felt fresh and clean and it asorbs quickly it to your skin. It's a versatile moisturiser, and at a bargain price think I may get one to keep in the car for emergencies and after being out in cold weather
Available here for £4.28!

Clinique Super Primer felt more like moisturiser than other primers I'm used to as it was thick and white. It sat nicely on the skin with a silky texture and had no fragrance. For a premium skin care band I don't think this is too pricey, sample provided 1ml and was more that enough for my face and neck.
Available here for £20 for 30ml

Has anyone else tried any of these products? What do you reckon?

#MJDaisyChain

This weekend Marc Jacobs have opened a pop up 'Tweet for a Treat' shop in Covent Garden.
I read about it first on Ashley's blog and with an open weekend ahead of me I decided to head on up.
The concept is that you put out a tweet or a vine with #Mjdaisychain show it to the staff who will give you freebies in return, some of the selected tweets could also win bigger prizes like full sized perfumes, bags and sunglasses.
These were our entries...

I know, we're hilarious...

Unfortunately we didn't win any of the bigger prizes, but we did each get a keyring, mini bottle of Daisy and Daisy Dream.

You could also exchange you tweets for a manicure or coffee and macaroons. Inside the shop was really cute with fake grass, log benches, swings and flowers to make it feel like a daisy garden. A DJ was playing and the tweet and images were projected on to a wall behind.
Look, there's mine!

Afterwards we went and had some lunch on the top of the Master Chef Street Food Bus!

And there was a big Radley Dog
And on the way I home I got this drink from M&S and it was totally delicious

All in all, a good day out!

Anyone else planning to go along this weekend? It's worth a try, and good luck if you do!
